L'AUTEUR
Sonia PelletierA history and geography
teacher in Alsace, Sonia
Pelletier-Gautier is mostly
inspired by her university
researches in medieval and
regional history to outline a
very accurate picture of the
Germanic Roman Empire Society
at the awakening of Rhenan
humanism.
Rich with archaeological and
museum experiences, she also
published a number of articles
in newspapers and historical
magazines, taking part, as
well, in collective works,
such as the dictionary of
Alsacian biographies.
On top of that, her thesis was
awarded a prize by the
“Conseil Général du Haut
Rhin”, and published,
warranted by the “Société
Savante” of Eastern Regions.
Mixing up Rhenan forgotten of
famous actors with fiction but
credible characters, she
restores from the past the
fear of inquisition to
stimulate her contemporaries’
thinking about vanity of
certainties at a time that
could be theirs. |

Roman Historique Collection Pierrefeu
De la Cour du roi de France
à l’Ordre des Dominicains :
La vie exemplaire d’une grande figure
de son temps. 1445-1461 - In 1445, Pierre Mor is twenty six years old and the time can no longer be dedicated to his student-life’s lack of concern. Very much affected by the strange way his friend Agnès de Chartres died, and by the death of his school friend Etienne who was found hanged in his Chatelet dungeon, Pierre follows the King of France Charles VII to Nancy then to Sarry, near Châlons. While attempting at re-building himself in the midst of courtesan’s intrigues, his school-friends who stayed in Paris with Thierry the fearless as their leader are trying hard to clear up the mystery surrounding Etienne’s death. Pierre, in search of serenity, finally joins the Domenicans’Order. He then discovers that a number of religious people have a dissolute way of life with impunity and he very quickly joins the observers’cause, whose preoccupation is to reform the Church from the inside, thanks to examplary behaviour. At the same time, far from these troubles Guebwiller, a dynamic small town of the Holy Empire, very perturbed by the excessive ways of behaving of the « Ecorcheurs », those disoccupied truck-drivers who ransack the whole kingdom of France. And this is in that town that Pierre Mor’s fate will develop, but he himself still ignores it. This volume is the second episode of Pierre Mor’s fictitious life. Pierre Mor who is one of the big Dominican figures of his time and « the » reference for brother Ulrich Bichwiller, the main character of the preceeding trilogy « Les Dilemnes de l’Inquisiteur ». |
