For everyone, it was  a mere legend. But Frahser’s taphoscaph came back to light. First by its mere presence, old war stories and old death stories, that all the inhabitants of Gondwana would like to forget, are coming back.
And it is by the least of these inhabitants – the desîsed Troglodytes of the Southern mountains – that the curse associated with the empire of the Roms threatens to come back to life.
How did this taphoscaph come into Trevor the Traveller's hands? He will not say. And if he reluctantly did  accept to be confronted once again to the dangers of the North track, leading to burning deserts to the night of ices, no one will know what he saw in the cold lands and seas.
Who could unveil Trevor’s secret ? Giedrus the Nomad who is able to read in the curves of a desert as in an open book ? Or this frightening figure watching everyone, this unknown being with terrifying powers : Tobler who is in command of tempests.
