A lot of strange things happen in the northern land. If looters could talk, they would have a lot of things to tell about these ships reaching on deserted coasts at night, about this object coming from the old legends and which was brought by the sea to a place no one knows about… and most of all, about the Whorps terrorizing these lands.
But no one listens to the looters : neither the Men entrenched in their fortresses between sand and water, knowing that war is coming, nor the Nomads travelling the desert with caravans as big as cities, nor the Troglodytes, the despised  inhabitants of mountains far away, outside of the world.
 Yet this particular object which can reopen  the old wounds of Gondwana has come by through a Troglodyte. Across wild deserts, Lacertears keeps wandering, his strength sapped by the underground horror of the Anankh.   Trevor and his brother commit themselves in a dangerous quest to the territories running alongside the Cold Seas. These territories which used to be flourishing are now accursed and still haunted by the memory of the faded Rom empire.
