October 1970, Brieuc Kerbrézant, a very famous pianist, comes back to Gwentrez, a Breton village, of the Côte d’Armor, for his father’s funerals, a father he had not seen for 10 years. When a poignant nostalgia takes over his pure and noble soul while rediscovering these moorlands and the shores of his childhood, he reproaches himself for having sacrificed moments of complicity with his introverted and inscrutable father to his career.
But Brieuc Kerbrézant’s most ardent wish is to solve the mysterious disappearance of his mother Adrienne, in May 1943. His aim is to rehabilitate her in the eyes of his close family locked in silence. He undertakes a fierce and painful investigation that is blocked by the resilient attitude of a family whose sole wish is to protect this exceptionnal being from the torments of the past.
