Un formidable roman d’aventures par le prix Renaudot des jeunes 2003
A wild child of the island of Oléron in Brittany, a poor girl of Biarritz who sells fish in the streets, and the son of a starving farmer from Andalusia: these three fates are going to meet on corsair boats, in the Caribbean islands, that of the Tortoise in particular. Right in the heart of the XVIIth century. Michel Cosem mixes the adventures, sometimes violent, with the descriptions and the life in the islands, pirates and those who live on their conquests. Ocean and boats offer a fantastic setting in a period revisited with sensitivity and originality. Embark on this novel to live the surprising and incredible adventures of these three young people in the country of the pirates. An atmosphere described with talent by a modern, famous, and appreciated writer.
