After her husband’s, Henry II’s death, and as she had been proclamed Regent of the Kingdom, Catherine of Medicis had to resort to the most intricate and acrobatic political manoeuvres so as to preserve their rights to her children, all under 18, who could not claim  the throne before years.

Fortunately, she disposed of assets of her own: the main character of this story, faithful Jacques Hamilton, the disciple of Nostradamus, a man versed in astrology and divination, and her female dwarf favourite ,Crazy-Head, an exquisite miniature woman endowed with a keen intelligence and acting as a most astute political advisor. Nostradamus is to make Hamilton the inheritor of a tremedous, dynastic and esoteric secret, likely to trigger off unimaginable consequences.
